The teacher read and discussed the story "Too Many Toys". This is a story about fostering empathy and kindness which inspired the students to create toys for the less fortunate. The creation of the toys was devised by the science and math standards which include investigating different types of motion and describing measurable attributes of objects. During the Improve phase of the Engineering Design Model, the student's toy creations are displayed for purchase at STEM night. The proceeds are given to the United States Marine Core for Toys for TOTS.
