STEM Showcase Day Fall 2023
Our STEM Showcase Day allows visitors to see our students’ STEM Project-Based Learning (PBL) and how it coincides with current units of study for Science, Math, ELA and Social Studies in grades K-5. Students participate in semester long learning using the Engineering Design Model in each PBL, this day is dedicated to display their hard work.
FCS Technology Competition 2023
The Fulton County Student Technology Competition (FCSTC) allows students to complete a project that aligns with one of the categories provided by the GA Educational Technology Consortium. The students presented their project to a group of judges in a 10-minute in-person presentation. Zy’Mirrah Williams, one of the eleven students to participate, placed 3rd in the Multimedia Application category.
Arts Day 2024
Arts Day is a fantastic event packed with artistic presentations and activities for students to enjoy. It’s a day dedicated to celebrating creativity and talent, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved. Students get to watch a variety of performances, showcasing different art forms. The day is organized with a schedule, ensuring everyone gets to experience each performance. Students have the opportunity to display their own artistic abilities, whether it's through music, dance, visual arts, or drama.
FCS Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl 2024
This Bowl competition is open to all public, private, and charter schools located within the Fulton County School system. Our 4th and 5th grade students were quizzed on books selected from the 2023-2024 Georgia Children's Book Award Nominees. We were the top scoring South Fulton school.
Humanities Night 2024
This years Humanities night focused on the significant African American contributions in STEM. Through the halls of the school, students showcased portraits and researched based projects on chosen black leaders. A local teaching artist and author from the Alliance Theater (a business partner), read and autographed her book.
Georgia STEM Day 2024
Georgia Stem Day is an incredible opportunity to dive into the fascinating world of STEM. It's a day packed with exploration and discovery. The students learn from experts and enthusiast who share their knowledge and passion for STEM. They get their hands dirty with fun and educational experiments that bring Stem concepts to life and participate in interactive activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity.
2024 Design Thinking Competition
Design thinking is a process for creative problem-solving that sparks innovation. Students select a challenging innovation to design. Schools devise a team to present their creations before a panel of judges. It involves five key components: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test.
Math Night 2024
ECW Math Night is an engaging event where students and families participate in interactive activities designed to build math skills and foster a love for learning. Through games, challenges, and collaborative experiences, attendees explore real-world applications of math in a fun and supportive environment.
